Staalmeester® Brushes
All the Staalmeester® series combined contain an extensive range of quality brushes. From wall brushes to pointed sash brushes. Whether you need to paint a large surface or work with precision, with the Staalmeester® brushes you can create a brush mark free masterpiece. The fibre mix and bristles used differ per collection. For the Original Series, we developed the first Staalmeester® fibre mix, a combination of white natural Chungking hog bristles and synthetic bristles. This was our first collection since re-introducing the Staalmeester brand in , featuring the well-known purple bristles. Later, the purple bristles became a leader for water-based paint brushes in the Dutch market. The Classic Series consists of black and white brushes. The black bristle brushes from this collection are ideal for use with synthetic paint. In addition, the white bristle brushes are ideal for using wax, oil paint and milk paint. Furthermore, Staalmeester® has two collections that are made of 100% synthetic fibre. The brushes from the Pro-Hybrid Series have been specially developed for both water-based and synthetic paints. The fibres guarantee good paint absorption and release. This allows you to smoothly and evenly create a streak-free end result. The One by Staalmeester® fibre mix, used in the One Series, has a very high absorption content and elasticity. The premium quality paint brushes in this collection are ideal for finishing.

Rollers & Accessories
In the Premium Quality Series, Staalmeester® also introduced products other than brushes! After 72 years, the collection was expanded with premium quality microfelt paint rollers and paint roller brackets. The Staalmeester® rollers are equipped with unique high-end microfibres and available in different sizes. Our scrapers and stripping knives are made of the extra-hardened materials, so they last a lifetime. How sustainable is that! In addition, you work faster with a sharp stripping knife than with a traditional type of product. Staalmeester® scrapers are available in different shapes, for every surface. In addition to the products from the Premium Quality Series, you can also go to Staalmeester® for the everyday must-have items for any painter, like paint kettles or insert containers.

Guide to oil paint brushes

What is wholesale hand tools and Why Do We Use Them?
What type of brush should I use for painting walls?

Because of the consistency of oil paints, it&#;s no secret that oil brushes need to survive the thickness of the paint, but also translate that paint nicely onto the canvas. The bristles in oil paint brushes need to be heavy hitters, so hog bristle, sable and taklon brush hairs will be your main go-tos.

Hog bristle are sometimes referred to as Chungking brushes &#; this name comes from the Chinese region of Chungking, where the hogs originate from. Hog bristles are durable and can withstand the thick, heavy texture of oil paint. Each strand of the hog bristle is split into a few points from the tip, called &#;flags.&#; These flags are important because they&#;re what help hold and apply the oil paint smoothly.

On the other hand, you have the sable hair brushes. The versatile sable hair bristle can be used for oil, watercolour and acrylic thanks to its thin, bristle shape and fine tapered hair towards the end of the brush. The sable hair brush is great for oil paints because it can absorb the thickness of the paint. Sable hair brushes may not be great for covering large areas but they&#;re brilliant for adding fine details and thin streaks of oil paint.

Synthetic or taklon brushes, can also be used for oil paints and depending on personal preference, are also an alternative if you don&#;t want to use natural hair brushes like hog bristle. Synthetic brushes hold and apply paint well and can even be scrubbed against a canvas too, just like hog bristle.
