12 kW Electric Boiler Supply

Thank you to all and given the above comments, I am now looking into Air Source as an alternative, the Vaillant AroTherm Plus looks a good option but space for the Cylinder is likely to be next issue.

We have already added insulation to internal walls downstairs at front, approx 25mm celotex and have added 100mm at rear downstairs.

We need to top up attic space with insulation and possibly add 50mm upstairs on the walls as well.

The house has mostly timber floors which need the air flow so to get completely air tight is tall order. (This is why we initially ruled out Air Source).

We added approx 100mm celotex to part of floor downstairs where we had to replace because of rot and concreted that, but there is some that is still old concrete with no insulation.

its a small 3 bed mid terrace approx 18m x 4m 2 story.

What kW heat pump would be required? Would need to be Radiators, UFH is not an option now.

Property also has 5.6kw of solar panels. No Battery.

A 7 kw Heat Pump is likely to be too small for Radiators and DHW, these are 16amps and the 10kw and 12kw are 25amps, therefore much better option for power.

Given the small purchase price difference from 10kW to 12kW, I think a 12kW would be better option to ensure we have the input required.

Installing Gas or Oil would be backward step given the cost of tanks or mains install and no guarantee prices would be low.

Eventually Electric is going to be the lowest cost and most widely available, Solar, wind and Nuclear will prevail for sure given the climate issues.

Also given global warming, will we need so much heating in the future!
